Affordable and good Chinese restaurant. Highly recommend the 外婆茶香鸡, chicken is so soft and flavourful, it’s really a must order for me.

Very good experience, if you are struggling to find a traditional restaurant where to eat well, that is not in a hotel, this is the place to go. Great food and service, fair prices.

Grandma’s Home has multiple locations. Majority of them are in malls so they are pretty easy to find, but Google doesn’t have all of their locations. The one I went to is in the IFC mall. We went for Chinese New Year’s where they had a set menu. They load you with food and it was only the three of us so we ended up having lots of leftovers. We had about 12 dishes total. Pricing wasn’t bad and food usually in China is pretty cheap anyways. The salad was surprisingly tasty. The fried fish with red sauce we had was delicious and I could have eaten the whole thing myself. Overall, the food was good. I think you are pretty set with whatever you choose to order here. The service was nice as well because the waiters watch the tables and adjust if needed.

Wai Po Jia or Grandmas home is famous amongst locals for its home cooked style shanghainese comfort food and very affordable pricing. We ordered 5 dishes for approx RMB140 only. Here’s what we ordered: Clam soup, Steamed garlic prawns, Claypot Dong Po Pork, Stir fried cauliflower and Green tea biscuit (Lui Zha Bing). The taste was excellent and seafood very fresh . I will definitely eat here again. Go early to avoid the crowds and long wait.

Friendly service and attentive staff, this restaurant is popular among both locals and tourists looking for authentic Shanghai cuisine. Favourites are braised pork belly, stir-fried vegetables, spicy Sichuan dishes, steamed dumplings and its signature "Grandma's Stew Pot" (奶奶家的煲).

The Chicken is an absolute must-order here. The chicken is incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor, with the seasoning absorbed all the way through. Served hot, the aroma is amazing the moment it’s opened—true comfort food. Other dishes like the seafood are also good, but the Beggar’s Chicken is the real highlight. A visit here wouldn’t feel complete without it.
